## JFDA Overview The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) oversees food safety standards for all food establishments in Jordan. While calorie-display mandates are not yet as strict as Gulf states, Arabic-language requirements on menus are firmly enforced. ## Key Requirements - Arabic must be the primary language on all menus - Food handler health certificates are mandatory - Regular JFDA inspections for hygiene standards - Proper food storage and temperature control - Clear pricing in Jordanian Dinar (including 16% GST) ## Tourism Considerations For restaurants in tourist areas (Amman, Petra, Aqaba, Jerash), English-language menus are essential. JFDA encourages but doesn't mandate bilingual menus for tourist-facing establishments.
